Tips for a Stress-Free Moving Day

So, you’re moving to Kent. Congratulations! While this should be a time to be excited about your new home, it can sometimes be overshadowed by the stresses of the move itself. From decluttering your old home and sorting out address changes, to choosing the right removals company and the dreaded pack, making the move is a lot of work. Luckily, Sainsbury’s Bank has compiled a handy list of tips to make moving day less stressful.

The night before all your possessions are picked up, pack an essentials bag so you aren’t left rummaging through boxes in search of your toothbrush on your first night! If you have little ones, it’s also a good idea to pack an entertainment bundle so they’re kept busy, giving you some time to start unpacking.

Before handing over the keys to your old house, lay out all your appliance manuals and take a snap of your meter readings. As you wave goodbye, do a final check of all windows, doors and the garage to make sure everything is secured and ready for the new homeowners.
