Jess Orgill-Barnes
Kent-Teach Team Leader
I joined the Kent-Teach team in September 2022 having just spent 5 years working as a primary school teacher in Kent. I worked in KS1, as well as KS2 and
although I loved teaching, I decided it was time to try something else. With a background in Education and having used Kent-Teach throughout my teaching
career myself, I was excited when the opportunity to work with them came up. At Kent-Teach, I will be supporting the team in promoting Kent-Teach, as well
as supporting with marketing, design and implementing change across the platform. I will also be working with the wellbeing team, implementing training and
learning sessions to schools. I am passionate about staff and pupil wellbeing and I am excited about the projects we have coming up in the near future.
Nikita Woodley
Wellbeing and Employee Retention Advisor
I joined a fantastic team of education and recruitment specialists in 2019 having previously worked closely with schools supporting their recruitment and retention of teachers. My position at Kent-Teach rapidly developed due to my findings in staff turnover discussions. It became apparent that positive staff wellbeing and culture was fundamental for retaining school staff and so I began to place more focus on wellbeing support in general. At the start of 2021, we created The Kent-Teach Wellbeing Team who partner with schools supporting senior leaders with their staff wellbeing initiatives. Our advice for organisations is to start small by offering your staff a voice to have open and honest conversations. We encourage schools to make changes slowly and promote wellbeing as a holistic approach using the four pillars– Mental, Physical, Financial and Social.
My specialisms are building partnerships with schools and sharing best practice for reinforcing positive staff culture and wellbeing in the workplace. Having been a Secondary teacher in Kent, I have first-hand experience working within a school environment. I’m passionate about educating our future generation and inspired to fight the teacher shortage crisis in my county. I’ll be your first point of contact if you require any assistance with staff wellbeing, it would be a pleasure to hear from you.
