8 Places to go Pumpkin Picking in Kent

Pumpkin picking in the UK seems to be increasing in popularity year on year and we can see why. Pumpkin picking is a great activity for all the family around Halloween and half term. You can pick your own size and style of pumpkin and then carve it out into a spook-tacular design ready for 31st October.

We've picked out some of the best places across Kent for pumpkin picking, ideal for a family day out this Autumn and a perfect half-term activity. 

1) Beluncle Farm, Rochester

This 40-acre family farm is located between the River Thames and the River Medway in Kent. They specialise in growing pumpkins, squashes and globe artichokes. In October they open the farm to the public, and hold their annual Pick Your Own Pumpkin event. A fun event for all the family!

2) Chilton Manor Farm, Sittingbourne

Chilton Manor Farm is a family farm and shop situated in the beautiful Kent countryside near Sittingbourne with a great variety of pick your own produce, from apples and pears to pumpkins. 

When: Sat 14th and Sun 15th and then open every day from Sat 21st October until Halloween or until they sell out of Pumpkins whichever the sooner. Make sure you check the website for more information.

3) Four Winds Farm, Bidborough

This working family sheep farm holds events throughout the year, including their pick your own pumpkin event over the half term. There promises to be plenty of pumpkins with face painting, Scarecrow Trail and refreshments. Don't forget your wellies! Entry must be by ticket only, you can book your tickets here.

4) Lower Ladysden Farm, Goudhurst

Put on your wellies, grab a wheelbarrow and head on down to Lower Ladysden Farm this October for some pumpkin picking fun! After you have found your perfect pumpkins why not stop for hot drinks, cakes, a spot of lunch or even a glass of local wine in The Park Garden café, enjoy your food whilst appreciating the beautiful views overlooking the picturesque countryside.  There is also an award winning farm shop so you can pick up some tasty, local produce to take home with you. 

When: PYO pumpkins is available daytimes and selected evening dates throughout October, prebooking is essential.

5) Pumpkin Moon, Maidstone and Rainham

With over 70 varieties of pumpkins to choose from you won't know where to start! Pumpkin Moon specialise in fun for little people with a range of fun activities, including the maize maze, face painting and pumpkin painting for some half term family fun. There are three Pumpkin Moon farms to choose from - Maidstone and Rainham. Entry is £3.25 per person with under 2's going free (pre-booked tickets only) with ample parking and pumpkin prices start from £1. Tickets include free car parking, entrance to our Moon Mission maize maze, a mini maze as well as activity gamecards and a maze map. There are also delicious food and drink stalls at the farms and fancy dress is always encouraged!

6) Saffery Farm, nr Faversham

A working farm giving you the chance to pick your own pumpkins on selected days in October. Pumpkin are priced by size and start at £1, so don't forget to bring your wellies and spare change and get picking! Entry fee is £4 per car. 

When:  Saturday 21st October to Sunday 29th October 2022, 10am until 4pm

7) Sevington Farm

This family-owned farm welcomes you to become a 'Pumpkin Picker' and choose your perfect pumpkin for the Halloween celebrations! Tickets are priced at £5.50 per car and pumpkins are priced per size from £1-£10 each. Every pumpkin picked will donate pennies to a local charity and this year money raised will support Club AUsome. The charity supports families across Kent with children who have disabilities or additional needs. Club AUsome will be out on the field at weekends, so pop by their stand and say hi!

When: Open weekends, 14,15th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 27th, 28th and 29th October. Be sure to check the Facebook page before heading out!

8) Stanhill Farm, Dartford

Stanhill Farm is a family friendly farm with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes ready for eating and carving. The Berries and Beans café on site is open for the October pumpkin season so why not treat yourself to a warming hot drink or snack! Entry is £3.50 per car, pre-booking is essential.

When: Saturday 7th October & Sunday 8th October, Saturday 14th October through until Friday 27th October.  Entry times are Monday to Saturday: 9:30am - 3:30pm and Sunday: 10:30am – 2:30pm. Check the Facebook page regularly for updates.
