Due to a rising roll Lydd Primary School has a vacancy for a full-time Reception class teacher commencing April 19th 2022. In the first instance this is a fixed term contract, however it could lead to a permanent position should numbers increase.  If the right candidate were available before April we would consider an earlier start subject to references and pre-employment checks being completed.

Applications are invited from ECTs or experienced teachers who are energetic, enthusiastic, innovative practitioners keen to develop their teaching and inspire our children.

You would be part of our lively and exciting Ducklings and Bluebells EYFS team who in 2018 were awarded an outstanding judgement by Ofsted.  You would be working alongside our existing supportive and highly motivated teachers.  Our EYFS team also includes an onsite nursery provision, as well as the Reception unit which has the use of 2 classrooms and includes 2 full time teaching assistants.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed where you can meet our team.

Information about the school

We are an average sized primary school with a growing roll of hard working, polite and friendly children. The school has a team of friendly and skilful teachers who deliver a broad and interesting curriculum. At our last inspection we were judged to be a good school with an outstanding early year’s provision. Our teachers work hard, but as OFSTED noted we are also aware of the importance of a good work-life balance and morale is high amongst staff.

The school is well resourced, with large buildings, outdoor space and excellent local facilities for exploring learning outside the classroom.

Although Lydd is Kents most southerly village, it is well connected by road to many main towns. It is an easy commute from Ashford (where many of the staff live), Hastings, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe. Do come and meet our friendly staff and wonderful children, you are sure of a warm welcome.
