Grove Park Academies consists of Grove Park Primary School (two form entry primary school) and Aspire School (Special) which is a free special school which was officially opened in September 2020. Grove Park Primary School has a published admission intake number of 420 pupils and currently has 412 pupils on roll. Aspire School currently has 18 pupils on roll and will grow over the next few years to a capacity of 168 pupils.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking to appoint an exceptional and experienced Finance Officer to support the Central Services Finance Team and who has the necessary skills and personal qualities to contribute to the vision of the finance function in providing a high quality financial service to Grove Park Academies Trust on a day to day basis.

 

The main job purposes are:

  • Assist to maintain the effective and efficient management and operation of the Trust’s finance, accounting and budgeting systems and controls in accordance with the Academies Financial Handbook, Trust policies and best practice.

 

  • Provide a full range of financial and administrative support to the Trust Business Manager and the Trust to ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of financial initiatives and systems.

 

The above will assist to deliver the best possible outcomes to stakeholders to facilitate efficient and effective service and teaching and learning across the Trust.

 

This is a transactional role and the Finance Officer‘s main roles will be to undertake the following in an efficient and timely manner:

  • Raising/Processing Orders and Invoices
  • Preparation of Payments
  • Accounts Reconciliation
  • Month End Processes

 

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Experience of working in a school
  • A real passion for working in a finance and educational environment
  • Experience using financial management systems
  • High level of computer literacy including using Microsoft Office especially Excel.
