We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Head, with responsibility for the leadership of our Year 3 team,  who has the enthusiasm, dedication and a proven track record of   delivering high quality education and care for pupils. We need an outstanding  practitioner who is looking for a proactive leadership role within our successful        community school.

You will work alongside our Headteacher and the team of four other existing        Assistant Heads, to drive further improvement throughout the school on our journey to become outstanding.  You will need to be someone who will:

¨ promote our aims and vision

¨ have consistently high expectations

¨ be an outstanding, inclusive teacher who keeps our children at the heart of all that is done in school

¨ assist in raising the quality of teaching and learning across the school
be able to plan strategically

¨ be committed to working together in partnership with all those involved in the life of the school

¨ be committed to keeping all children safe in school.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD BE TO: Lead their Year Group to meet the school’s expectations of high quality teaching and assessment, keeping to deadlines where given.

SALARY SCALE: Leadership Pay Spine L1-L5

REPORTING TO: Head Teacher

Starting date preferably September but a later start date can be negotiated if necessary.

Information about the school

Riverview Junior School is a very popular four form entry Key Stage 2 school on a large site we share with the Infant School.

Our extensive site offers lots of opportunities for outdoor learning, including an outdoor library, two football pitches, MUGA, outdoor intervention area, animal farm and forest school, and we offer large well-resourced classrooms.

We are delighted to announce that our recent Ofsted inspection, carried out in February 2022, graded the school’s overall effectiveness as ‘Good’ with ‘Behaviour Attitudes’, ‘Personal Development and Leadership Management’ all being graded as Outstanding;.

We are now part of The Golden Thread Alliance and we work closely with the other schools in the trust.
