Pastoral Support Manager – Years 8 & 9
Aylesford School

Are you passionate about making a real difference to young people? Are you calm, organised and able to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues?

Aylesford School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Pastoral Support Manager to take a key role in supporting students across Years 8 and 9.

Working closely with Heads of Year, teaching staff and the wider pastoral team, you will help ensure that students feel supported, attend regularly, behave positively and are ready to succeed. You will be a visible and trusted presence for students, providing early intervention, practical support and clear expectations when challenges arise.

The role will include:

  • Providing day-to-day pastoral support for students in Years 8 and 9
  • Building strong relationships with students, parents and carers
  • Supporting positive behaviour, attendance and engagement
  • Identifying students who may need additional support and coordinating appropriate interventions
  • Working collaboratively with teaching, safeguarding, SEND and pastoral colleagues
  • Helping students overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence, resilience and independence

We are looking for someone who is approachable, resilient and solution-focused, with excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with young people in a busy secondary school environment.

Experience of working with young people would be an advantage, but just as important is the ability to establish positive relationships, maintain high expectations and genuinely care about improving outcomes for students.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious school where pastoral care is central to helping every student thrive.

If you believe that strong relationships, high expectations and the right support can transform a young person’s experience of school, we would love to hear from you.
