Goldwyn School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Teacher of Maths to work across our sites in Ashford and Folkestone. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and motivated teacher with strong subject knowledge, drive and passion to make a meaningful difference to students who may have experienced limited success in previous educational settings.

Goldwyn students are of mixed and often high ability. Through a nurturing and aspirational whole child curriculum, our students are supported to achieve good grades in GCSEs and other Level 2 qualifications by the end of Year 11.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with students whose primary needs include SEMH and autism, and will be able to contribute positively within our team to ensure that the delivery of Maths across the school is purposeful, engaging and appropriately matched to the needs of our students.

We welcome applications from qualified teachers at any stage of their career, including those from mainstream primary, secondary or special settings, as well as ECTs.

The Role - You will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to small groups of students with SEMH needs
  • Plan and teach a curriculum that supports both academic progress and personal development
  • Use trauma-informed and relational approaches to support behaviour and engagement
  • Assess, track and adapt provision to ensure strong progress for all learners
  • Contribute to a consistent and supportive approach across our sites

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is a qualified teacher with a strong subject knowledge in Maths
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with students who may present challenging behaviour
  • Is flexible, reflective and committed to improving outcomes for children with SEMH
  • Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school community
  • Is willing to work across our sites in Ashford and Folkestone
