Job role: Attendance Officer

Salary: FMAT Band C4 £27,364.00 FTE

Actual Salary: £20,628.95 per annum

Hours: 32.5 hours per week

Monday – Friday – 8.30am – 3.30pm

30 minutes unpaid lunchbreak each day

Term Time plus 2 training days

The Trust is looking to recruit an experienced Attendance Officer to undertake the monitoring of school attendance, you will manage daily registers and follow Kent County Council attendance pathways, including issuing letters home, attendance clinics, and penalty notices. You will use the school’s MIS to produce reports that identify patterns of concern, specifically tracking vulnerable groups and persistent absence. By working closely with pupils, staff and parents/careers to reduce levels of absence, and act appropriately when attendance becomes a safeguarding issue.

The successful candidate must have a high standard of general education, including English (written and spoken) and Maths at GCSE or equivalent grade C or above/5 or above, as well as excellent IT and interpersonal skills. They should be adaptable and flexible with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to work on their own initiative. As they must be able to work under pressure to analyse data, identify barriers to attendance, and implement interventions if needed. Given that their responsibilities involve collaborating with colleagues, it is essential for them to work effectively within the team to accomplish tasks diligently and to a high standard. The postholder will be expected to work in a sensitive and diplomatic manner, having regard for the confidential nature of their work
