Class Teacher

Temporary Maternity Cover (MPS) for Terms 5 and 6 2026

From Monday 20th April 2026 until the end of the academic year.

Maternity Cover Teacher required! We have a vacancy for an inspirational, committed, enthusiastic and caring teacher to join our large teaching team. If you are motivated and passionate about teaching and learning and keen to be part of a thriving ‘good’ school, Wincheap could be the place for you.

We can offer a supportive environment, where behaviour is good and faces are friendly (and that’s just the staff!). This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a large two form entry school, with strong and welcoming staff. We foster a positive ethos where everyone is valued.

Applications are welcome from ECTs and experienced teachers. The vacancy is to cover maternity leave for Terms 5 and 6 in a mainstream Year 2 classroom. Evidence of good/outstanding teaching is essential. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please call Mrs. Kathryn Segal at the school office (01227 464134) to arrange an appointment.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students. You are advised that this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and therefore this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Please be aware that schools are also required to undertake online recruitment checks on shortlisted candidates under changes to Keeping Children Safe in Education.
