We are seeking to appoint an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant, to cover maternity, who is a motivated and enthusiastic professional with experience of working in a busy primary school. Parkside Community Foundation Primary School has a friendly and supportive staff ready to welcome you to our school team. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be calm
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Have a high level of education with a minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Be able to model good spoken English
  • Be flexible and able to multi-task!

A formal 30 minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of members of the Leadership Team. Candidates will also undertake a 30 minute English and Maths test. 

The post is for 32 hours a week (Monday-Friday) and term-time only. The pay scale is Kent Scheme A at £24,513 (FTE), which equates to approximately £17,925 per annum pro rata for this role.

Parkside Community Foundation Primary School is a small, growing, happy school on the outskirts of Canterbury. We have a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures within our school, and this greatly enriches and enhances our school community.

Our pupils benefit from small classes and a high level of pastoral support across the school. Our pupil numbers have doubled in the past 6 years (currently 170) and in April 2023 we were judged ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted. We have made significant improvements to, and investments in, our school site, which is very well resourced.

At Parkside, we value greatly outdoor learning and have developed a three site forest school area, which all children access each week. We have a range of play and Physical Education areas for our pupils.
