Advert

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Support Worker to join our Reception class team, supporting a pupil with a hearing impairment. In particular, we are looking for an enthusiastic, committed teaching assistant with experience of supporting children with SEN, who already has qualfications in British Sign Language, or is willing to commit to learning BSL and working towards a qualification. The successful candidate will work within the classroom as well as helping the child with their care needs and implementing specific programmes to support the child’s learning. You would expect to work flexibly and as part of a team, supporting the pupil one to one, working with groups and as part of the whole class.

We can offer you a school with a great ethos and family feel, a fantastic environment in which to work, a friendly, professional group of colleagues, regular CPD opportunities and good resources.

You will be working with a passionate team which is completely committed to giving each child the best primary education possible. We are always looking for new ways to inspire our children and both staff and pupils genuinely love being here.

Candidates are expected to be skilled communicators, positive, professional, fun and caring.  If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEN and are excited to be part of a welcoming school community, we would love to hear from you. You would be required to commit to completing a British Sign Language training course, attending classes on one evening each week.

This is a term time temporary contract for the academic year in the first instance but there is a high probability that the post will continue if funding permits. School visits are encouraged.
