Goldwyn School are seeking experienced and hard working Cover Supervisors with an interest in developing their skills in teaching. If you didn’t want to take the QTS route but still feel you could offer our students your dedication and passion for education, we would be very interested to hear from you.  We are able to consider full or part-time roles. 

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs, and who can help us make a positive impact on a student’s life by helping them to achieve their full potential.   All our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan in place and a range of needs including Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

Suitable candidates must be available Monday to Friday during the school term and you will be required to supervise whole classes during short-term absence of the teachers.  You will also need to be able to use your initiative to support student learning throughout various classes and support classroom teachers when not required to cover lessons.


You will ideally

  • Have a degree and/or relevant experience of working in a school setting
  • Have recent experience of teaching or supporting in a classroom in the UK
  • Be able to show good behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Be happy to cover classes across the Key Stages
  • A commitment to young people and their education
  • A positive attitude and sense of humour
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A good team working ethic

Goldwyn students are of mixed and high ability (NC level 3-4 on entry) and as such are capable of achieving GCSE and other Level 2 qualifications in Year 11.

These posts are offered on Kent Scheme C (£25,252 - £26,262 per annum pro rata) plus SENA (£1484.97 per annum) and is for 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks a year (term time only plus 5 staff development days).   Actual salary range is £20,757 - £21,502.65 per annum including SENA
