This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lady Joanna team as a class teacher. We are looking for someone that exemplifies excellence in the classroom. You will be passionate, energised and excited by pedagogy and you will have a thirst for personal development. Your inclusive mindset will view all pupils as individual learners and you will apply adaptive teaching approaches to meet the needs of all pupils. You will seek coaching and be willing to coach others; your classroom will be an open door for other professionals to share practice. This professional mindset will mean that you are ambitious: for the children in your care, the school and yourself.

This is your chance to contribute to a remarkable community that cares deeply about the children. We can offer an environment that promotes an expansive education and one which supports learning for The Head, The Heart and the Hand.  We have high expectations of our staff, but in return we will develop your career, your practice and your well-being (professional and personal) which is considered as part of our well-being framework.

The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or perhaps a teacher who wants experience in a different setting. We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning, a curious, reflective thinker who knows there are different ways to achieve outcomes. We would like to know as part of your application what your subject specialism is and what skills you have to lead this across the school. The position is for Key Stage 2. You might have an interest in OPAL, PSHE, or expertise in another area. You might be an ECT or experienced teacher. What matters is the mindset. We are looking for a person who is passionate about education and is committed to creating an amazing learning culture in their classroom for all children. You will be passionate about the Arts and want to contribute to our expansive curriculum in the Performing Arts Studio, along with cooking in our pupil kitchen with produce from the school garden.  Your energy will ensure that the pupils are physically and mentally healthy.

If you are interested and think you can bring learning alive for our community, please get in touch to have an informal conversation and find out more. School visits will be held by appointment only with the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher. Please call the school office on 01233 812781 or email office@ladyj.kent.sch.uk to book a place on a tour.

Tour dates: 11.00am Thursday 28th March; 11.00 am Tuesday 16th April, 1.45pm Thursday 18th April.

At Lady Joanna, we aim to provide a stable, caring, learning environment in which children are happy to attend, are stimulated, keen to learn and flourish. Our curriculum is for the Head, Heart and Hand and this means we want to provide an expansive education.

Lady Joanna is a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, which empowers the children to learn more about their rights and how they work in practice. The school also supports children to become courageous advocates through the School Council and we are proud of our environment and promote environmental issues.

Lady Joanna is a member of CARE Foundation Trust which is a group of 10 local primary schools. This provides support and shared learning opportunities across the trust.
