We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, motivated and passionate Unqualified Teacher for students with complex needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) to join our successful team.

We will support you to gain QTLS in a KS4 or KS5 class and provide you with weekly mentoring and a comprehensive CPD programme, with at least 1 day out of class. At the end of your 2 years, you could go on to apply for a permanently qualified teacher role at Marlborough School.

Both full and part time applications will be considered for this post for the right candidate. Please state clearly in your application whether it is full time or part time, and confirm the days you would be available to work. We are a split site school with one site based on Marlborough Park Avenue and our Legacy site is based at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School.

Information about the school

Marlborough is a successful community special school for students aged 11 – 19 with complex learning needs including ASD, SLD and students with PMLD. We are committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all our learners and we achieve this through creative curriculum and personalised intervention strategies to ensure each individual students’ needs, interests and abilities are fully met. We focus on the development of communication and independence skills whilst ensuring that our students are empowered and enjoy positive wellbeing.

The wellbeing of our students and staff is paramount. The school is located within beautiful parkland, allowing for lunchtime walks and visits to the school Cafe as well as access to a variety of local shops and eateries just a few minutes’ walk away. It is a lovely feeling to be in the middle of the local community in which we have many charity partners. We are training up school therapy dogs to become an important part of the wellbeing offer for both staff and students who wish to be involved. All permanent staff have access to an Employee Assistance Programme; we have a wellbeing room, and an active wellbeing staff committee.
