PASTORAL MANAGER VACANCY - PERMANENT POSITION

Required for an individual Year Group (Year 11)

Please note that the individual Year Group may change at the end of any given academic year.

Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, term time + 5 training days

Salary: Kent Range 7 (£22,022 actual starting salary/£25,378 full time equivalent)

St John's Catholic Comprehensive School is seeking to recruit an experienced, hardworking, and proactive practitioner for the role of Pastoral Manager, who will be assigned to an individual Year Group (Year 11).  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing student welfare and behaviour, whilst promoting a sense of personal excellence in our students.  Please Note: The individual Year Group may change at the end of any given academic year.

Our new Pastoral Manager will need to be a confident, professional and approachable communicator, as they will be liaising with external and internal stakeholders; including staff, students, parents/carers and the wider community.  The successful applicant should have good time managment skills, be able to meet deadlines, be empathetic, as well as having a flexible approach to work as priorities could change at short notice.

St John's is a successful co-ed Catholic Comprehensive School with over 1300 pupils, including over 300 students in our Sixth Form and c.200 students in each Year Group from Years 7-11.  We have a very strong Catholic ethos and pride ourselves on being a warm and welcoming community, something that was externally recognised in our recent Section 48 Inspection of January 2020, where we acheived "Outstanding Cathoic School" status.
