Minster Church of England Primary School are looking to appoint a highly effective Cleaner to work in our school.  We need a responsible, conscientious, hard-working person, preferably with some workplace cleaning experience to complete our motivated cleaning and premises team.

We pride ourselves on keeping a clean and healthy environment for the children at our school so if you feel you can maintain a high standard of cleanliness within classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets and washrooms then you may be who we are looking for!

The position is for 15 hours per week (2.45 pm–5.45 pm, Monday – Friday) term time plus 30 hours in the school summer holidays (the equivalent of 38 weeks plus 2 weeks).  This is a temporary contract until 31.8.24 when the staffing needs will be reviewed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining areas of the school in a timely manner, to uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout. They will provide a comprehensive cleaning service to allocated areas and are expected to clean to a high standard, working within set routines and perform allocated duties in line with health and safety regulations.

The successful candidate will

  • Be punctual and reliable
  • Have good teamwork skills
  • Respect confidentiality and the potential sensitivities of working in a school
  • Be able to demonstrate in their application that they can fulfil the main duties of the job description and person specification as a minimum
  • Be prepared to undertake training appropriate to this role
  • Be prepared to attend all safeguarding and regulatory training that is required by the School (overtime will be paid if this exceeds your hours)

 

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check along with other pre-employment checks which must be undertaken before the role is confirmed by the school.
