We are looking to appoint a Family Liaison Officer for 15 hours per week, term time only (preferably Mon/Wed/Fri, but this is negotiable)  

The person we are looking for to join our happy and successful school will have:

  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach to supporting children and families
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • An understanding of the support available from outside agencies.

and who will:

  • Establish and foster good relationships with parents and carers
  • Encourage parental involvement in the school and its activities
  • Share information on practical childcare and parenting skills, including how to meet the emotional needs of children
  • Support children and families with regard to personal difficulties and signpost as appropriate

Herne C.E. (Aided) Junior School is a well-respected and oversubscribed school in the village of Herne.

Our parents recognise our Christian distinctiveness and state, ‘The school offers a homely environment for our children to learn’. This is supported by our SIAM’s inspection.

We are a large 3 form entry Junior School, which benefits from extensive playing fields, a MUGA and beautiful surroundings.

Most of our children join us from our local infant school.

Our children are happy, keen and talented, not just academically, but musically and through sports.
