Appointment: Premises Officer/Administration Assistant

Pay Grade: KR7, 8 hours per week for 52 weeks

KR4, 8 hours per week for 40 weeks

Full Time Annual Salary: £23,850 / £19,293

An exciting opportunity is offered within the Temple Grove Academy Trust for a Premises Officer/Administrative Assistant working at our Tunbridge Wells Primary School. This role requires someone who has handyman skills, great time management and strong administrative skills.

 

This combined role is varied and will be responsible for:

 

  • The security, maintenance, heating and ventilation, Health and Safety and other general site services within in the school to always ensure a safe and functional learning environment
  • Provide access to the site as well as monitor and report on the performance of contractors supplying goods or carrying out services on the school premises
  • Ensure that the school site is maintained in a safe, clean, and secure condition as required, undertaking task that are necessary for effective site management
  • Provide a high level of office administrative support
  • To always promote the academy in a positive manner to staff, students, and visitors

 

If you are:

  • Have basic training in one or more of the following: plumbing, general and ground maintenance, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems (or sound experience of same)
  • Have knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in relation to the post
  • Have considerable DIY experience at the level of minor maintenance
  • Have experience of overseeing other works i.e., contractors, cleaners etc, experience of undertaking responsibility for the care and maintenance of premise
  • Have a sound knowledge of a range of computer applications including, and a good working knowledge of MS Office packages, particularly Word and Excel to produce a range of professional documents
  • Have the highest expectations for yourself and others
  • Enjoy new challenges and working as part of a team
  • Able to use own initiative and work flexibly to plan, prioritise and manage a workload in an environment of regular and critical deadlines

Temple Grove Academy is a 1 form entry primary based in Royal Tunbridge Wells (near High Brooms train station), 50 minutes by train from central London. The academy has extensive grounds for outdoor education and has recently benefitted from major capital investment.

TGA’s school sits on 4 acres of land in the Sherwood Park area of Tunbridge Wells. The school has already heavily invested in its Forest School endeavour with a fire pit, canopy, mud kitchen and bespoke outdoor classroom.
