#ImInCharge

Earlier this year, we asked for students aged 11 to 16 all across Kent to share what they would do if they were in charge of the classroom.

Why did we do this? Because teaching is an essential profession that deserves respect.

Teachers launch careers, build confidence and are behind the next generation of superstars. But it can also be a tough job, and we know lots of young people are cynical about teaching as a career.

We wanted to inspire you to consider the power of teaching and think about the changes you could make if you did it for a living.

Thank you for sharing your ideas with us! The competition has now closed and you can see all of your idea submissions below.

We are thrilled to announce the winners, Tyler and Owen, who sent similar submissions of what they would do if they were in charge. Their ideas were to set up an educational game of manhunt. They have won VR headsets and we are looking forward to making their ideas a reality! Stay tuned for the result… # IMINCHARGE

The film will be shared on Kent-Teach and social media to motivate potential future teachers to teach in local schools.
