Hildenborough Church of England Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive school in the heart of Hildenborough village.  We are committed to enabling all our children to flourish and consider wellbeing to be central to positive learning outcomes and a healthy and happy school experience.

We are a slightly smaller than average, one form entry school that was founded in 1847.  In 2004 a large extension was added to the original school building creating 6 large bright classrooms (all opening onto the playground), an ICT suite and a dedicated early years area and outdoor space.

We enjoy a strong relationship with our church: St. John’s Church, Hildenborough.  The Christian values of love, honesty, courage, compassion, hope and endurance underpin all that we do.

Our dedicated teachers, leaders and support staff work as a friendly and supportive team to secure the best outcomes for children and mutual support for colleagues.  Our pupils are happy, engaged and enthusiastic learners who enjoy coming to school and who have a voice in the direction of the school via the school council.  The children’s learning is enhanced by a range of extracurricular activities including girls and boys football, craft club, choir, Minecraft club and netball. We have supportive parents and an active PTA who run events to provide funding for specific projects outside of the normal school budget and who offer social activities throughout the year for both children and parents.

We are fortunate to have excellent facilities. There is a dedicated library which is in the process of being refurbished, a spacious school hall with a stage which is used for school productions and performances, an ICT suite, community room fully equipped with cooking facilities and the ‘Green Room’ which is where our SEN team are based.  Its here that they welcome and support our children and families.  The children see the Green room as a safe and nurturing space where they can go at lunch and break times if they need a quiet, calm space to play.

The grounds surrounding the school offer the pupils plenty of outdoor space to play and learn. In addition to the playground areas there is an outdoor gazebo, wildlife pond and a forest school area.  Throughout the year there are opportunities for children in all year groups to experience forest school sessions which not only develops their understanding of the world but also supports the development of their sense of wellbeing and engagement in their learning.

The school backs onto the to the parish recreational ground which we use for athletics and team sports and are lucky to be able to utilise the extensive athletic facilities at the Tonbridge School sports centre for our annual sports day.  We are proud of our Sporting opportunities and achievements.  Prior to Covid restrictions we worked closely with The Tonbridge and West Kent School Sports Partnership taking part in a wide variety of inter-school competitions.   We were awarded the platinum school games mark in 2019.  We are the only school in the local area to be awarded this mark and shows our commitment to providing competitive sporting opportunities for all our pupils.

If you are a confident leader with excellent communication skills who can engage with our whole school community, Hildenborough CE Primary offers plenty of challenges and opportunities to shape the future of our school.
