The Sheerness West Federation was formed in 2015 out of a genuine desire to provide outstanding education for children within our community. It comprises of two Community schools: Rose Street and West Minster primary Schools, with a combined roll of over 850 children. 

Through developing forward thinking initiatives which have been fully supported by governors, recent highlights of the federations success have included: - 

• Large recent investment, resulting in large purpose-built annexes at both sites 

• Winning  European Funding for our “Freedom Without Chaos” initiative, which trials and develops the Dalton education principles in the UK, sharing education best practice with our European partner schools in Holland, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal

• Delivered a technology project in conjunction with Apple, furnishing years 5 & 6 with iPads which have been used to do everything from coding development to video production to scientific recording

The Federations focus has and will always be the children within our community and how the education and the wellbeing of our families can best be supported by us.  The Isle of Sheppey has a strong community spirit ready to welcome the right people to become part of our family. As such the Federation also enjoys excellent relationships with the local children’s centre, the local environment establishments, and businesses within our community.
