Our Community
Our unique Federation is part of the wider education community on the Isle of Sheppey and we are part of Kent County Council, the Local Education Authority.
Sheerness West Federation can be found on the Isle of Sheppey, which boasts much maritime and aviation history, playing a key part to both the outcomes of the 2nd world war and progress of flight itself.
Situated in the seaside, market town of Sheerness we have blue flag beaches that look out over the Thames Estuary and a local high street within walking distance from both the Federation's schools.
The Federation enjoys a historic link within Sheerness with Westminster recently celebrating 100 years of the school existing on its current site. Some of our families have been part of our story from the very beginning.
The Island itself is an up and coming area enjoying a thriving tourism economy based around several classic holiday destinations including Leysdown and Queenbourgh that are home to a spirited fishing industry and watersports past times.
We have our own areas of natural interest including distinctive and varied coast line and a large nature reserve where Raptor watching and Kentish sunsets can be enjoyed all year round. We also have a wealth of local and national heritage sites here including historically important places of Worship and Sheerness is one of the oldest and deepest working ports in the country.
