Our School
Philosophy
At Trottiscliffe, children, staff, parents and Governors work in partnership to develop the foundations for lifelong learning.
Aims
- To develop a caring, confident and motivated school community, in a bright stimulating and safe Christian environment for children to become independent learners in order to take responsibility and develop a sense of pride, self-worth and respect for others.
- To provide children with the skills to learn through practical activities and investigations in order to promote enquiring minds.
- To maintain and strengthen our links with parents, the church, the village and the wider community.
The School
Trottiscliffe School has always been linked to the Church and the Christian Community it serves. On land donated by Canon Key, the modern School, built in 1966, looks out over the rolling Kentish Weald. The green, breath-taking views, unspoilt by buildings, road or railway give a perfect setting for reflection and study. Adjacent to the school is its predecessor, the Old School and House, built in 1849. Now a private dwelling, it retains the school bell-tower.
