Local Area
Located in Wye, a village situated within the Kent area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Canterbury and Ashford, ‘Lady J’ is a two form entry school at the hub of this unique village. It is fortunate to retain a close-knit community atmosphere whilst also being ideally located close to the High Speed 1 and Eurostar rail lines at Ashford International station.
In 2013, Wye came third in The Sunday Times 'Best Places to Live in Britain' guide as it offers 'the best quality of life to the widest number of people'.
Most of the centre of the village consists of old buildings but post-war development has added estates of various kinds around the centre. The surrounding area is mainly farmland, with the North Downs skirting the village on one side and the River Stour on the other and it is regarded as an attractive village.
There is a wide range of shops (including a garage and post office). Regular bus services and train services to Ashford, Canterbury, London and the Kent coast. There are two village halls and a full complement of village societies, sporting clubs and a library.
