New Road Primary School is located in the Medway town of Chatham, a fascinating maritime destination, situated between Rochester and Gillingham.

The school nests closely to the River Medway which is recognised as one of Britain’s ideal locations for leisure activities and filled with famous maritime heritage. You’ll find clubs, marinas and boat yards along the river and there are several riverside walks in the area for you to exercise and take in the beautiful scenery.

Chatham’s history extends back for more than 400 years. The historic Chatham dockyard is one of Britain’s leading maritime heritage locations including a fantastic array of attractions and known as the world’s most complete dockyard from the Age of Sail.

The town has excellent transport links with Chatham, Rochester and Gillingham train stations within close proximity as well as a local bus station. Additionally, the A2 main road is not far and easily accessible so you can quickly travel around the rest of the county without hassle. 

There is a lot to discover in the town and around the surrounding areas with the Pentagon Shopping Centre consisting of over 70 stores, events and activities held throughout the year.  Chatham and Medway certainly have all you need if you fancy retail therapy, a range of restaurants/cafes to wine and dine in, an exciting day out on the river or soaking up some local history.
