About the School
Please read a letter from the Chair of Governors.
Mersham Primary School has been thriving since 1877, in an attractive village south east of Ashford. Numbers have risen steadily over recent years, and the school now has 7 classes and 210 pupils registered in 2014/15.
Although not a faith school, Mersham Primary has an excellent relationship with the local community and the church. We are immensely proud of the children’s academic achievements and their success in sport, music and the arts.
The school remains very much at the heart of the village, but now, as well as local children, it attracts pupils from Ashford and further afield to experience an education that blends tradition with modern techniques.
We have been building ICT resources which now include Wi-Fi, an ICT suite, class computers, interactive whiteboards, visualizers and 27 new iPads, all of which aid the children’s learning and ensure their school experience is a great one.
We are very proud of our outdoor classroom, playing fields and grounds that have been substantially developed and resourced to provide opportunities for staff to enhance the entire curriculum through regular activities. This also allows children to enjoy learning through varied and exciting lessons.
