Claremont Primary School

Could our vacancy be the right opportunity for you?

Salary: £57,000 - £67,290 (plus a discretionary additional payment of up to 25% of salary for an exceptional candidate)
Number on Roll: 497 (Group 3)
School visiting dates: between Monday 19 January and Friday 6 February
Close Date: Friday 27 February 2015, 12pm
Date of Interviews: 10-11 March 2015
Position Start Date: September 2015
Responsible to: Governing Body and Local Authority

It’s an opportunity for you to put into place your vision. You will have ideas and plans for the successful school you would like to lead, and we think Claremont offers you the chance to make them happen, the chance to improve, to develop and to innovate. Rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’, we’re an ambitious school, and with the governing body behind you, you’ll have the encouragement and support you need to shape the future of our school.

It’s an opportunity because you will be working with an amazingly gifted, energetic and committed staff team. They include several specialist leaders of education, county moderators and an award-winning PE specialist. Our data is also impressive, although we are always looking for improvement and we hope you’ll help with that.

It’s also an opportunity because of the pupils: lovely children, motivated, funny, well-behaved and excited and enthusiastic about learning.  They all love school and we try to give them as broad an education as we can.  Their parents are very engaged too.  Over 70 parent helpers volunteer in school and our active PTA raises money for school projects and runs social events, for both pupils and parents.

It’s an opportunity to influence education in a broader sense too.  This is because of our involvement as leader of the Teaching School alliance, now overseen by a Director and Executive Board, with full support of the governing body. Additionally, there’s opportunity with our membership of the town’s educational support network, the local collaborative trust.

And it’s an opportunity because we will provide you with all the support you need.  You’ll be able to draw on expertise of the leadership and teaching teams, and the various backgrounds and skills of the governors.  In addition there will be external support, ongoing training, executive coaching if you want it, plus priority leadership time to focus on the high level strategic and planning elements of the job.

We could go on.  The biggest reason that it’s an opportunity is that Claremont’s a great school – friendly, supportive, caring and a lovely place to work.

If that all sounds good to you, contact us to arrange a look around.
