Local Area

Tunbridge Wells is a town of about 55,000 people right at the western edge of Kent, near to the border with East Sussex. It is well-connected to the road and rail networks, so access is easy from the local area. It lies on the train line between Charing Cross and Hastings, with London about 50 minutes away, and trains running four times an hour on weekdays. 

The town boasts some of the best shopping in the area, with a diverse range of standard high street shops, department stores and small boutiques in town, and a retail park just outside.  There are some excellent local food retailers and a regular farmers’ market held in the centre. We have a theatre, a multiplex cinema and a smaller independent town centre screen, as well as lots of restaurants, bars and live music venues.

It is a very family friendly town, with lots of schools, and some great places to visit nearby.  The Sussex coast is about an hour away by car, and local attractions include castles, houses and play/activity centres.  It is also a very attractive town, with its sprawling common, its Georgian colonnade the Pantiles and a wide variety of architectural styles amongst its many beautiful historic buildings.
