West Borough Primary School is a warm, inclusive two-form-entry primary school, complete with a maintained Nursery, nestled in the heart of Maidstone. We are proud of our caring ethos, where every child is supported to flourish and feel valued. Our dedicated staff, supportive families, and enthusiastic pupils contribute to a strong sense of community that underpins everything we do.

At West Borough Primary School we work together in a safe and inclusive community where every child is respected, takes responsibility, embraces challenges, values equality, and develops the resilience to succeed in life.

We aim to nurture confident, curious, and compassionate learners, where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. We embrace diversity and celebrate differences, encouraging everyone to approach learning opportunities with resilience and enthusiasm.

We believe in educating the whole child, offering a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning. Supported by our five core values - Equality, Responsibility, Respect, Resilience, and Challenge - we create an environment where learners are inspired to take responsibility and develop independence.

We are proud recipients of the OPAL Platinum Award, placing us in the top 0.5% of UK schools for the quality of play provision. Our commitment to meaningful play is reflected in thoughtfully resourced environments such as tyres, mud kitchens, dress-up areas, and more, all which promote creativity, social skills, resilience, and wellbeing.

Our consistently “Good” Ofsted rating (October 2022) speaks of strong teaching, leadership, and pupil outcomes. We continue to build upon this solid foundation through clear vision, high expectations, and a united drive for excellence.

Based on a spacious, well-resourced site just outside Maidstone town centre, our school offers excellent facilities including a thriving Nursery, breakfast and after school club, extensive outdoor learning areas, and a library. We also work in partnership with Bower Grove School and host a satellite provision. Our inclusive practice ensures all learners, including those with special educational needs or English as an additional language, are supported and empowered to succeed.
