The children, staff and governors of Weald Community Primary School are seeking a full time, permanent headteacher for our popular school in the picturesque village of Weald to commence the role in Sept 2025, although if necessary, we can defer in order to appoint the right person.

Our new headteacher should be someone who will take our happy, successful, small village primary school to the next stage of its journey, building on the many strengths that the school already has in place and puts the children at the heart of everything they do.
Ideally we are looking for someone who:
- Holds a passionate desire for every child to flourish and achieve their very best in their academic, social, physical and moral development.
- Has QTS and NPQH or other evidence of further Professional Development in preparation for Headship.
- Leads by example – with integrity, creativity, resilience and clarity.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, people management skills, emotional intelligence and approachability, effectively building a coherent team in which everyone is valued and recognised as playing their important part.
- Can lead colleagues effectively and facilitate excellent CPD, delegate and empower staff in order to develop distributive leadership.
- Works in partnership with the governing body to develop and build on the school’s vision and is able to inspire, engage and empower staff, pupils, parents and the local community, with the school’s vision, values and goals.
- Can demonstrate a commitment and understanding of Safeguarding and the promotion of the welfare and safety of children.
- Has significant expertise in teaching and learning, understands how children learn best and is committed to ensuring pupils’ excellent progress.
- Ensures that teachers and other staff have consistently high expectations of what each pupil can achieve, meet their needs and therefore ensure that pupils achieve their potential and are effectively prepared for their next phase of education and life.
- Has a proven track record of school improvement in some aspect of the curriculum.
- Implements a consistent approach to positive behaviour management underpinned by a culture of high expectations and mutual respect between pupils and adults
- Has experience of School Budgets and financial management.
- Is committed to promoting positive and respectful relationships encouraging, ambition, optimism and the resilience to overcome challenges or promote and drive forward changes.
- Has the skills to raise the profile of the school in a competitive market.
- Promotes equality of opportunity and respect for diversity.
