Chilton Primary School is looking to appoint an inspirational, thoughtful and dynamic leader to join our outstanding primary school. We want someone who shares our values, ethos and passion for transforming lives through the power of education.

Chilton Primary School is a popular two-form entry school situated in the beautiful coastal town of Ramsgate, Kent.  Home to England’s only Royal Harbour, Ramsgate is an area with a compelling history and a bright future.  Close to London, and to the Channel ports, with affordable house prices, the town is ideally placed for young families to enjoy seaside living whilst having access to high achieving schooling such as ours.

Chilton Primary School values are Respect, Equality, Courage and Kindness, we are looking for a candidate that embodies these strongly held values while leading our school, acting as a role model to our staff and pupils.

Whether you are looking to step into your first headship or whether you have been in a Head’s role for some time, if you can demonstrate you have proven school leadership experience that has had a significant impact on the whole school then this job may very well be the job for you. Above anything else, you must have an uncompromising passion for teaching and believe that you can make the necessary contribution to ensuring the best start for every single child.

The successful candidate will:

Be a courageous school leader – our pupils deserve nothing less than a first-class education
Have a strong belief in the potential of our pupils
Have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to lead and inspire colleagues
Have passion and drive for school improvement

In return we can offer you:

420 fantastic children each deserving a Head of School that will willingly go that extra mile to ensure they succeed.
70 committed employees who are dedicated to providing an outstanding educational provision for our children.
A talented Senior Leadership Team with their own passion and expertise.
A supportive and inclusive school community
A strong commitment to your ongoing professional development
Mentoring by and support from our Director of Education, Executive Headteacher and Trust Central Team
Support from fellow Heads of School and staff from across the Trust and the opportunity to work collaboratively with other school leaders throughout the Trust
The chance to make a real difference in the lives of our inspiring children
Access to other employee benefits offered by our Trust
Wellbeing support and coaching

Prospective candidates will be expected to make a visit prior to applying for the role to meet with Michaela Lewis, Executive Headteacher and Kate Law, Director of Education.  Please contact EHT@vikingacademytrust.com to organise a visit.
