Small Haven School
Ramsgate
School Description
Small Haven School provides vulnerable children, whose varying needs could not be met in other education placements, with a chance to have a sense of belonging within a school community where they can thrive. The school was awarded a Good in the recent Ofsted inspection with areas of outstanding in personal development and behaviour and attitudes.
Small Haven School is a close community. Relationships between staff and pupils are excellent and play an integral role in creating a calm, safe, and happy environment that facilitates learning and enables pupils to reach their full potential. Close working relationships with parents is an essential part of our school ethos.
As a small school everyone has good knowledge of each other. This allows for excellent understanding and sharing of individual student’s academic, social and emotional needs. This, along with high staff to student ratio, enables effective differentiation and personalised learning. A culture of effective communication and reflective practice is encouraged throughout the school.
Small Haven School is registered for up to 36 students aged between 6 to 19 years across KS1-KS5, all of whom have Education, Health and Care plans. The school has a highly dedicated staff team of 24 working in our small campus. This provides a safe environment for pupils who previously may have experienced insecurity and allows them the opportunity to access their education and thrive.
