Dover Grammar School for Girls
Dover
School Description
Dover Grammar School for Girls is proud of its welcoming, inclusive and caring community; relationships between students and staff are very strong and support this. We are an innovative school, where staff’s workload and wellbeing are central to everything we plan, ask and do – we are a school that puts our staff first. The ethos and culture of the school was captured perfectly during our most recent inspection (March 2025):
“There is a caring and supportive ethos throughout the school.”
“This school is well led.”
“Leaders are aware of, and sensitive to, staff’s workload and well-being”
“Staff appreciate the professional development they receive and know their work is valued.”
“[staff] feel well supported and are happy and proud to work at this school.”
Our commitment to staff wellbeing, workload and working conditions is supported by:
Access to StaffCareServices Support Line 24/7 for all staff. This includes access to the Wisdom app and counselling sessions for any staff member that requires this
Senior Leaders are trained Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders) and there is a commitment to have at least 10% of staff trained as MHFAiders by 2028. This is to mirror the commitment made by MHFA England.
Flu vaccinations offered to all staff in the Autumn (October and November)
Consultation with all staff on whole school decisions (e.g. whole school calendar)
Continued Professional Development for both teachers and support staff
Dover Grammar School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students, so the interview will include questions relating to child protection.
Members of the interview panel have undergone Safer Recruitment training. This post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and an enhanced DBS check will be required prior to appointment.
