School Description

St Anselm’s is a thriving one-form entry Catholic primary school with 211 children. We are a happy, welcoming and ambitious school community, proud of our strong Catholic ethos, which lies at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with parents, carers and our parish community to create a caring and effective learning environment where children are encouraged to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. Expectations are high, and so too are the rewards: children leave St Anselm’s confident, responsible and well-prepared for the next stage of their learning journey.

What makes St Anselm’s special?

• A joyful and caring atmosphere – our children are happy, enthusiastic and eager to learn.

• A dedicated team – our teachers, teaching assistants and support staff go above and beyond to ensure every child feels valued and achieves their best.

• Strong partnerships – with families, carers and St Vincent’s Parish, creating a true sense of community.

• An inspiring curriculum – designed to spark curiosity, develop creativity and thinking skills, and nurture spirituality.

Our Achievements:

We are proud to celebrate several recent successes that reflect the strength and dedication of our school community:

• Catholic Schools Inspectorate (February 2024): Outstanding in all areas, recognising the strength of our Catholic life and mission.

• Wellbeing Award for Schools (July 2025): The report praised the exceptional leadership of wellbeing at all levels, highlighting our strong sense of community, embedded support systems, and unwavering focus on the wellbeing of every child, parent and member of staff.

• OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning): Awarded the prestigious Platinum Standard Quality Mark (September 2025) for our commitment to high-quality play opportunities.

These achievements highlight our commitment to nurturing confident, well-rounded children who embrace challenge, show respect for others, and live out strong values in everything they do.

At St Anselm’s, we believe education should be inspiring, supportive and rooted in joy. Together, with our families and parish, we strive to create a school where children and staff truly thrive.
