Eastry Church Of England Primary School
The school has 215 children on roll, 10 teachers, 14 teaching assistants, 2 office staff, 3 kitchen staff, a care taker and 3 cleaners. We have an outstanding reputation for high academic standards and are an integral part of the local community. OFSTED graded the school as outstanding in Oct 2009 (full inspection) and Sept 2011 (Science inspection). We have an effective governing body and an active Parent Teacher Association. The Headteacher is a Local Leader of Education and supports local schools
Our school is housed in one modern building. The original building dates from the 1960s and contains our Key Stage 2 classrooms (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6), our library, our computer suite, our hall and kitchen and additional teaching areas. Our Key Stage 2 classrooms are all air conditioned.
The school hall is used for worship, PE, dance and drama, lunchtime meals and social functions. The school kitchens are adjacent to the hall and we are very fortunate to have our school dinners cooked on site.
An extension, completed in 2004, houses a purpose built reception classroom (for our Fledglings) and classrooms for Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2).
The school office, head teacher’s office, staff room and SENCO's office are to the right of the main entrance, near our quiet area. There is also a new meeting room. A unisex toilet suitable for the physically handicapped is also situated here as is another staff toilet
We have 2 playgrounds, an outdoor chess board, a large field, 3 small adventure playgrounds and wooded areas.
