Cheriton Primary School
Cheriton Primary School (480 on roll) is situated on the outskirts of Folkestone. The school serves a diverse community including an army barracks which is home to the 1st Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles alongside children who come to our school from across the Folkestone district.
As a member of the co operative movement (The Vicus Trust) we hold the values of self help, self responsibility, democracy, equality & solidarity at the centre of all we do in school.
The staff at the school work hard to ensure that the children make great progress but also that the children always have something on the horizon to look forward to, they are committed to developing a passion for learning in every child who attends the school.
The school was inspected in February 2016 and judged to be a continuing good school with many outstanding aspects with the inspectors celebrating the diverse nature of the school, strong parent and community links and a wide and stimulating curriculum.
On a weekly basis it is common to have a large number of parent volunteers working in the school, adult learning classes on site, international tea afternoons, a Brownie pack and Community Choir using the school facilities as well as sports, arts and cultural activities for the children in school.
The school has been accredited with the Excellence in Literacy Award, the Quality in Extended Schools and The Parent Partnership Award.
