Cheriton Primary School is a vibrant two-form entry school situated on the outskirts of Folkestone. We are proud to serve a rich and diverse community, including families from the nearby army barracks, home to the Royal Gurkha Rifles, alongside children and families from across the wider Folkestone district.
At Cheriton Primary, inclusion is at the heart of who we are. We celebrate diversity, value every individual, and are committed to creating a welcoming environment where every child and family feels respected, supported, and able to thrive. We are proud of our inclusive community and the strength that comes from learning and growing together.
Our school community is guided by our core values: we are ambitious, we are diverse, we are creative, we are mindful, we are adventurous, and we are resilient. These values inspire our children to aim high, embrace difference, think innovatively, care for themselves and others, explore new opportunities, and persevere through challenge.
Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to ensure that every child makes excellent progress academically, while also ensuring that school life is exciting, enriching and full of memorable experiences. We are passionate about developing a lifelong love of learning and raising aspirations for every child.
Cheriton Primary is a true community hub, with parent volunteers playing an active role each week, adult learning opportunities on site, parent coffee mornings, and a wide range of sporting, artistic and cultural activities that enrich school life and strengthen our community connections.
We are also fortunate to have a large Forest School area on site, where children from Year R to Year 6 develop confidence, independence and teamwork through outdoor learning. From building shelters and laying fires to creating bug houses and exploring conservation, our Forest School provision encourages children to be adventurous, resilient and mindful of the world around them.
