Information about the School
Horton Kirby CE Primary School is a Church of England school and a one-form entry setting, made up of seven classes. Opened in 1970, we are a village school with strong links to the local community and excellent relationships with our supportive parents.
Our current school roll is 220 pupils, and we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all. Our curriculum is aspirational and designed to provide children with rich opportunities, inspire curiosity and encourage them to ask questions and deepen their understanding of the world around them. It is also diverse, promoting equality, inclusion and respect for all.
Our facilities include a designated sensory space known as the Ocean Room, a calm and reflective space called the Forest Room, and a dedicated Creativity and Innovation Room to support imaginative and exploratory learning. In addition, we are fortunate to have our own Forest School set within the beautiful grounds of our school fields, providing rich outdoor learning opportunities.
Our staff team is welcoming, experienced and highly committed, with many colleagues having worked at the school for a number of years. This stability contributes to the strong, collaborative ethos that underpins our work.
We aim to provide a caring and stimulating atmosphere at the school alongside high expectations of behaviour for both staff and children. To this end staff work co-operatively and professionally together to provide for our pupils. As of May 2023, the school has been graded GOOD in all areas other than Early Years in which we received an OUTSTANDING grading by OFSTED.
