We are now looking to appoint a Caretaker to join our Premises Team in looking after our large primary school and grounds in order to maintain an excellent and safe school environment for staff and pupils. The successful candidate will ensure that their work is carried out to the highest possible standard.

The ideal candidate will be a conscientious, hard-working, flexible and self-motivated individual who will take pride in the presentation of our school. You will assist the Head Teacher and Premises Manager in ensuring the effective management, organisation and supervision of all matters relating to the school’s premises.

Your duties will include all aspects relating to security and safety of the premises, supervising cleaners, general maintenance and repairs, supervising contractors, some cleaning and ensuring the smooth running of the school. The job will include require flexibility of working hours on occasion and some additional hours in evenings and weekends to open and secure the premises for external lettings, school events or polling days.

Fairford Academy Barnehurst is a three form entry primary school within Illuminate Minds Trust, a small thriving academy of two trust schools. The school is located on the borders of Barnehurst and Erith with excellent transport links. Pelham Primary School is based in the centre of Bexleyheath and has two forms of entry. Partnership working between the schools is encouraged!
