Early Birds Nursery, part of Chilmington Green Primary School have a fantastic, part time opportunity to support our youngest children. This is a great time to join Chilmington as we are soon to move into our brand new state of the art building!

We are looking for a Nursery Midday Meals Supervisors to join our small but growing school. The main responsiblity is to supervise the children during meal times to ensure they are enjoying a nutritious lunch in a safe and happy environment.

The role also involves putting out dining tables, a cutlery set and beakers in time for the start of the lunch period, ensuring there are sufficient settings for the number of pupils eating that day. The role may also require some cleaning in the dining hall.

To work as a lunchtime supervisor, the following skills are desirable:

  • enjoyment of working with children
  • patience
  • the ability to stay calm
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to work as part of a team

Lunchtime supervisors must also be aware of responsibilities under child protection legislation (training will be provided) and report any safeguarding concerns to the head teacher.


  • Term time only role
  • Monday - Friday, 11:45am - 1:15pm.
  • The salary will be a pro-rata KR3 - appoximately £3130

Information about the school

Chilmington Green Primary School is a large primary school on the new Chilmington Green development in Ashford.

It is operating as a one form entry school for children of primary age (4–11-year-olds), with the exception of Reception year, which allows two forms of entry, allowing for 60 Year R pupils to join the school each year. The newly opened school nursery now inhabits a dedicated space for up to 26 nursery aged children (2, 3 and 4-year-olds) per session and also includes a Specialist Resource Provision for up to 14 pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

At full capacity, the school has sufficient space to offer 420 primary school places to children in the local area and has 14 classrooms, a library, nurture room, multi-use games area plus a large hall and sports field available to hire by the community.

The school is a member of The Stour Academy Trust, a forwarding thinking Multi Academy Trust of primary schools that are transforming that way that children learn in order to better prepare them for the 21st century.
