Salary – MPS/UPS

Start Date – 1 January 2022

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and inspiring teacher of Art and Design Technology on a full time basis (skills and knowledge in photography would be an advantage).

Borden Grammar School is committed to developing minds and changing futures, by  providing students in Swale with every advantage that a selective community school can offer. Our Borden values of kindness, creativity, resilience, courageousness and respect are underpinned by our strong belief in the importance of effort - “striving forward together”. We would expect the successful candidate to model these values and to join us in our journey, with drive and determination, to achieve the best for all the students you teach.

The Art and Design Technology department is successful in a variety of areas. Examination performance in GCSE is strong and consistently high. Art and DT are established choices for students undertaking their options in Year 9.  At GCSE the departments offer GCSE Art and Design and Product Design.   A number of students continue to study either Art, or Photography or Three Dimensional Design at Advanced level. In recent years students from our partner schools have also supplemented the numbers of our own students studying Advanced Level courses.

The Art rooms and DT workshops are a hive of activity throughout the school day. The department is supported by a full-time technician. This is a post for a suitably enthusiastic and qualified teacher, who is committed to achieving high standards in all areas of school life, and can demonstrate the potential to contribute a great deal to the future development of Borden Grammar School.

Borden Grammar School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
