Advert

KCSP wishes to appoint an Area Business Manager (ABM) for our largest cluster of secondary academies: St Anselm’s, Canterbury; St Edmund’s, Dover & Ursuline College, Westgate on Sea

The ABM will be accountable to the Director of Finance & HR of the Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership (KCSP) and will be responsible, on a day-to-day basis, to the Executive Principal of the three academies for their strategic financial planning and management; Payroll; Estate Management; Health & Safety and for all of their contract-managed services. This is a key role, the ABM will advise the Executive Principal together with the cluster’s Executive Governance Committee, Academy Committees and Academy Principals on all matters of a financial and service provision nature.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate a team, work effectively under pressure and be able to consistently meet deadlines. Travel to all three academies on a regular, weekly basis will be required, to ensure that the cluster is effectively supported and managed, so we are also looking for applicants with flexibility and a ‘can do’ attitude. There is administrative support in each school in relation to finance, HR, premises, and Health & Safety.

St Anselm’s, St Edmund’s and Ursuline College are inclusive academies; their dedicated staff, helpers and Governance Committee Members work hard to ensure that every student is supported and challenged to be their very best. The Trust and our academies offer a supportive, inspiring working environment with staff development at our heart.

KCSP and our academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and require all staff, helpers and Governance Committee Members to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check and section 128 check.

Your letter of application should be limited to 1,000 words max. and should outline why you are suited to this role, what you believe you can bring to the academies and also your experience to date, skill set and qualifications.

The successful applicant will be committed to promoting and upholding the Catholic ethos of the Trust and its academies, but you do not need to be a Catholic to apply for this role.
