Finberry Primary School are looking for a Parent Support Advisor to support its growing school community. Finberry is on the journey to outstanding and this is a great time to join the fantastic team there!

The PSA being a ‘front of house role’, will be expected to work as part of the front office and in collaboration with other staff members. You will form an integral part of the school team, one in which you can make a real difference to the lives of our children and families. We are looking for someone flexible, with a 'can-do' attitude and a willingness to 'pitch-in', going above and beyond when necessary to support both our children and families as well as colleagues.

The successful candidate will require relevant experience of working with families, including parents, pupils, professionals and agencies. It would be desirable to have knowledge of inter-agency provision that support schools and families. The candidate should be able to work in a collaborative way, with the Head teacher and and other school staff, to manage the diverse needs of pupils and families.

We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional inter-personal skills, communications skills and an understanding of the needs or children and young people. We need someone diligent, organised and efficient as it is essential that an effective record keeping system is maintained and accurate records are kept. Training will be provided to support where required. The successful candidate will also be open to supporting the wider Trust hub (another of our schools within the Ashford area so a driving license and own transport is necessary)

Information about the school

Finberry Primary School opened in September 2015 in temporary accommodation in Jemmett Road, Ashford and has since moved into a state of the art building, in the newly developed Finberry Village near Kingswood, Ashford.

Built to serve the needs of a growing community, the school has recently been expanded in a second phase of construction to provide a building that can support a two form entry school of 420 pupils.

The school also hosts a small specialist resource base provision for pupils who have greater difficulty learning as a result of Behavioural, Emotional and Social Needs. The base includes provision for up to 14 pupils. A Nursery is also available to local children, run by the school.

The school was inspected by Ofsted in September 2018 and was judged to be "Good" in all areas; with a positive ethos alongside strong and secure relationships between all staff and pupils being commented on in the report. The staff are working tirelessly to achieve "Outstanding" in their next inspection.

Finberry Primary School is part of The Stour Academy Trust, a highly successful primary only multi-academy trust. Working in a collaborative model, Finberry is part of the Ashford Hub of the Trust, along with Chilmington Green Primary. All Academies in the Trust share the same core values and ethos; to raise standards and address under performance whilst making sure that the children are at the heart of every decision. Through the effective use of Hubs, the Trust’s aim and ambition is to create a network of outstanding schools that thrive through collaboration and interaction.
