Flexible, Part Time/ Full Time, Specialist Support Assistant in DT & Engineering

Part Time or Full Time position required to start as early as possible.

A fully flexible role where the hours of working will be from a minimum of 15 hours, up to maximum of 37 hours per week in term time, plus additional hours to be worked in school holidays, to the equivalent of 2 weeks.

Salary Grade 5, range 15-17.       Full Time Equivalent: £19,723 - £20,893

Pro-rata to: 15 hours £7,053 - £7,472

Pro-rata to: 37 hours £17,399 - £18,431

  • Do you have experience of working in Design & Technology, Electrical, Mechanical or Engineering?
  • Are you proficient in the use of workshop machinery?
  • Are you familiar with the Health & Safety requirements when using machinery?
  • Are you versatile, a quick learner and do you have good IT skills?  
  • Do you enjoy strategic planning of 3D challenges and are you an avid problem solver?

NTC has a Specialist Support Assistant vacancy in DT & Engineering.  This role supports teachers with practical tasks and resources in the specialist Design Technology area.  You will need patience, ability to organise and manage specialist materials, components and equipment, together with responsibility for stock checking and ordering of suitable cost effective materials.  Full training will be given and this role would be ideal for someone with a civil servant, forces, mechanical, industrial or similar background who wishes to take a step back in their career.

The role is extremely flexible and daily working days and hours will be tailored to the successful candidate’s needs, as well as ensuring the operational needs of the school.
