Would you like to work together to design and implement a curriculum for the future fpr our school community? Do you believe that all children should enjoy school and be given the chance to flourish?

We are looking for an aspirational Assistant headteacher or existing Deputy Head who would like to be part of developing our school future.

We are in an exciting period in our school history where we are moving to a brand-new school site in September 2021. We have designed our school around our outdoor ethos, and you will be integral to building on our existing strengths and ensuring our children love every moment they are with us.

Our school values of Care, Learn and Forgive are felt throughout the school. As a staff member you would also be supported under these.

CARE:

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, energetic, enthusiastic, kind and caring to work with our amazing team. You will mentor teachers and support staff to ensure that they fulfil their potential. You will embody a love for teaching, both of children and adults.

We care for our team to ensure work is a place you thrive, whether this be with flexible working, CPD opportunities or purely an opportunity to try new things. We trust our staff.

LEARN:

As part of the role there will be a whole school responsibility for curriculum development and safeguarding. You will be part of the child protection team and work closely with other agencies as required.

We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to ‘Live life in its fullness’ and we aim to nurture individuals. You will champion our children and work with families to ensure that we can give everyone the best opportunity to succeed. Experience of working with families, developing partnership and trust will be essential.

The role is non class based but there is an expectation of teaching across the school as required.

We are looking for candidates who bring a variety of strengths and would like to hear from a range of candidates from all backgrounds and stages in their leadership career. This role will require a large degree of subject leadership; however we are happy to change roles within school to suit the strengths and experiences. We want the best candidates for our school and will be flexible around this.

Our CPD is tailored to the team needs. We do not use a one size fits all approach. For those new to role or aspiring for the next stages in their career training can be provided.

FORGIVE:

We know that everyone makes mistakes and we want our community to understand and forgive each other. We encourage our children and staff to think about what went wrong and work to improve next time. We believe that a large part of learning is making mistakes. Our children know this and will try most things. We want staff members to try new things too and rather than fear, know they are trusted.

If you would like to join our team please contact headteacher@platt.kent.sch.uk to discuss further.
