Chilmington Green Primary School are looking to recruit an intervention teaching assistant to support individuals and small groups of children across the school including in our Specialist Resource Provision.

The SRP at Chilmington Green is a specialist provision to support pupils with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) and has places for up to14 children. Within this provision, each pupil has an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) 

This is a great time to join the team at Chilmington Green as we are about to move into a state of the art new building in September 2021. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, flexible and adaptable with good literacy and numeracy skills. Previous experience of working with children with educational needs is desirable but above all, we would like someone with a calm and positive approach to working with children with varying levels of special educational needs. We are fully committed to ensuring that pupils within this area of special need are integerated as fully as possible into our schools and that they feel as highly valued as all other pupils.

This can be a challenging position, but equally very rewarding. The successful applicant will be joining a well established and forward thinking team of professionals, supported by the wider Trust

The post is a 30 hour contract. The role is term time only (30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year + 5 weeks paid holiday

Salary is paid at a pro rata'd KR3 (approximately £13,870 gross)

This role is temporary and subject to review in August 2021.

Information about the school

Chilmington Green Primary School is a new primary school in Ashford that is open in temporary accommodation in Jemmett Road.

The school will move into its new state of the art site on the Chilmington Green development once building works have been completed, this is currently expected to be September 2021.

When fully operational Chilmington Green Primary School will have up to 60 pupils in each year group. It will also operate a nursery which will provide 26 full-time/52 part-time places. The building will host specialist provision for up to 14 primary aged pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The school has an admission number of 60 per year group with mixed year group classes up to Year 6.
