Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St Augustine Academy’s well estbalished SEND department as the school SENCO.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic SENCO, who will lead and develop the Academy’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy and provision in order to raise attainment and achievement of students with SEND.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering high quality interventions to vulnerable students, whilst also be able to demonstrate that they have effectively managed the co-ordination of staffing and resources across a whole school setting.

Qualified teacher status is essential preferably with English as a specialism, or an ability to demonstrate high levels of literacy support previously provided to groups of students.

Applicants should demonstrate exemplary practice and act as role model for other staff, acting as and advocate/champion for supporting all pupils. Applicants will need to integrate within our friendly Academy team as well as needing excellent communication skills to develop a good relationship with students and staff.
