We are seeking to appoint a highly effective, caring and enthusiastic, Teaching Assistant with a minimum qualification of NVQ2, to join our friendly team for 30 hours a week from now until July 2021, with the possibility of this becoming permanent.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and of delivering a personalised curriculum
  • Be confident in supporting pupils with social communication difficulties
  • Show positive skills in supporting emotional well-being, and behavioural development
  • Be able to improve the communication and interaction of the supported pupil(s)
  • Have high expectations for children’s behaviour
  • Be committed to supporting children’s learning
  • Be used to working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
  • Have an understanding of school safeguarding and SEND policies and the need for confidentiality
  • Be adaptable, cheerful and willing to work as part of a team
  • Be willing to undertake training if needed

The school began its transition to a two-form entry in September 2016 and will reach full expansion by 2022.  The school joined the Primary First Trust in February 2017. There is a 52 place nursery in the school. The school has a diverse intake, made up of 15 ethnic groups. 31% of pupils have English as an additional language (EAL). The school has extensive grounds including playgrounds, a field and Multi Use Game Area.  All of these are used to enhance pupils’ learning experiences. 

The school is situated in the east of Gravesend offering quick links to the A2/M2. The site is extensive giving staff good car parking facilities and a dedicated PPA room as well as a staff room. The building is well-maintained offering a good working environment. The school values staff well-being and support is put in place for new member of staff so that they are quickly integrated into the school community. We have a supportive staff community, with calm well-mannered children. The school is well resourced and there are opportunities for continued professional development.
