REQUIRED for September 2020 – 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 child with an Education Health Care Plan with Cognition & Learning and Speech, Language & Communication needs for 20 hours per week.

St Nicholas CE Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our highly collaborative and supportive team. Our TA’s are pivotal to our success in the classroom and provide a great deal of support for our teachers; therefore our successful candidates will be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and students alike.

Key responsibilities:

• to work under direction from the classteacher and the SENCo who will provide a supportive network and provide guidance and training as needed.
• to work on a 1:1 basis with a specific pupil on a daily basis and where necessary,
• provide wider support to the classteacher in the teaching and welfare of children to attain the targets set within the Personalised Education Plan/ Provision Map.

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate experience in supporting pupils with Speech, Language & Communication needs.

This is a temporary contract, initially until December 2021 - linked to a named child with High Needs Funding or for the duration the child is at St Nicholas.
