The Hayesbrook School is a vibrant non-selective 11 – 18 boys Academy, with a mixed sixth form. Our vision is simple - to ensure that all of our students achieve beyond expectations and flourish as confident learners with the highest aspirations, ready for the university or careers of their choice and also ready for the world in which they will work and live. We are relentless in our pursuit of the very best for all our students.

We are looking for a talented and dedicated teacher to join our successful team in June 2020. The contract is to cover maternity leave.

Our successful MFL department has a good track record. Student engagement and our shared expectations are high meaning students achieve well and enjoy learning languages; they make us proud every day.

The length of your experience as a teacher is less important to us than your ability to motivate and inspire. Our new colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young person, whatever their starting point can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to change lives.

We are excited to receive applications from newly qualified teachers ready to start a brilliant new career with us just as much as more experienced colleagues looking for their next step.

Staff at The Hayesbrook School enjoy excellent support, creative and high impact weekly professional development opportunities as well as a two week October half term. The Academy is a 5 minute walk from Tonbridge mainline station with quick rail links to the south coast, London and towns across Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

As educators, we are driven by a united purpose: to maximise the future opportunities of every young person that passes through our door. The wellbeing and success of every individual is at the heart of everything we do.

Building on the strengths of our legacy school, Hayesbrook Academy, Leigh Academy Tonbridge will always be an institution that values and nurtures every young person in our care. Our small school model means that every child will be known, cared for and challenged to succeed. As has always been the case at Hayesbrook, we will continue to value the partnerships with our families recognising the critical value of the home-school partnership in ensuring the success of every child.

Leigh Academy Tonbridge is an inspirational community, with high-standards of discipline creating disruption free classrooms and a broad, innovative digital curriculum, underpinned by the principles of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Our curriculum is knowledge rich, promotes diversity of thought and creates a framework within which students explore, understand and appreciate the power and application of knowledge in real global contexts. Through the implementation of our curriculum students mature into reflective and resilient learners who can work both independently and collaboratively to overcome challenges, are confident critical thinkers and master lifelong learning. We provide all of our students with a Chromebook to develop their digital skills and to enrich their learning in their classrooms and to support their independent study.

Our students flourish, becoming curious, caring and culturally astute young people as they move on to higher education or employment. They leave with a broad skill set and the versatility to embrace the future challenges of the modern world.
